Booster Pump

Home Up

This pump is part of a booster system and is capable of pumping O2 at pressures up to 3,200psi.

The first version of the pump had a shaft that was too small and no guide block. Due to the extreme pressures the pump shaft mushroomed slightly causing it to jam and then bend.

To resolve this problem I added a guide block and shaft bushing and made a bigger pump shaft.

Once the mechanical issues were resolve I encountered sealing issues. By making a two part piston I was able to get rid of the o-ring seals and use Servion ring.
