Brian Basura
I am an Amateur Radio Extra Class operator and currently serve as Assistant District Emergency Coordinator for the ARES LAX High Desert District. I am a Board Member of both the Antelope Valley Amateur Radio Club and the Acton Agua Dulce Amateur Radio Club. My technical contributions include hosting a Winlink Gateway, assisting in the management of a second, and serving as trustee for two local repeaters as well as the KK6MTQ club call sign.
Beyond radio, I am deeply committed to community service, frequently speaking at middle schools, high schools, and junior colleges, as well as supporting STEM education programs. I have also pursued extensive personal and professional Tesla coil work, with projects featured in museums, corporate theater productions, television, and film.
My hobbies reflect a spirit of exploration and technical challenge, including advanced technical scuba diving at some of the world’s top wreck sites. Professionally, I bring decades of technical experience working in aerospace and IT consulting, and I recently retired as a Senior Hydroelectric Powerplant Technician, where I applied my expertise in complex systems and operations to ensure reliable energy production.
