We went out looking for a Piper Cherokee
that crashed and sank of Catalina Island in November 2001 The following pictures are courtesy of my buddy Phil Garner (Thanks)... With Ross in the lead, me close behind, and Phil bringing up the rear we dropped in on numbers given to us by a friend. Once we hit the bottom we looked up and
there it was. The cargo door was off so I squeezed inside for a look around. While inside lobsters started crawling up my legs. The instruments are cool looking but have seen better days. It was a tight squeeze backing out with all my gear on. Here are a couple shots my friend Steve Lawson took in 2004 when the plane was shallower and there was more light.
